Bio

cosmic portrait.JPG

Janine grew up on the west coast of Canada, studying science throughout university, and beginning her self-guided explorations in drawing and photography while living overseas in Asia and Africa 1999-2005.

Drawing and photography expanded to painting in 2013. And when she became a road cyclist in 2018, she discovered a new form blending art and athleticism by creating drawings with maps and streets while riding her bike and recording with GPS.

She is inspired by nature, music, language, dreams, spiritual journeys, movement/dance, personal work, and the human condition.

Currently living in the Berkshires of western Massachusetts, Janine travels often, and also spends much time in New York City. She is motivated by Martha Graham's words to "keep the channel open".
